Prayer Ministry

We are a people of prayer.

At The Fort, our Prayer Ministry exists to fervently intercede for our church family and to help cultivate strong, personal prayer lives rooted in Scripture and dependence on God.

Our commitment is shaped by five core practices:

  • Resist – We’re not passive in prayer. We stand firm, putting on the full armor of God. (Ephesians 6:12)

  • Ask – We boldly bring our requests to the Lord, trusting His goodness. (Matthew 7:7)

  • Yield – We walk daily in the Spirit, staying surrendered and dependent. (Galatians 5:25)

  • Exalt – We glorify God through praise, thanksgiving, and worship. (Psalm 104:1)

  • Remain – We abide in Jesus, trusting Him to lead and bear fruit through us. (John 15:5)

“Pray without ceasing.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:17
“Devote yourselves to prayer…” – Colossians 4:2

Hi, I’m Cheryl, the Prayer Ministry Leader.

My husband, Ernie, and I are high school sweethearts, and we’ve been married for over 30 years. We have one son, Bailey, and we’re so grateful to have found a church home at The Fort that truly feels like family.

I believe prayer is the foundation of our faith and a powerful opportunity to glorify God. It brings me joy to pray for others, and I’ve been blessed to witness many prayers answered. I’d love to pray with or for you—just ask!
