Prayer & Fasting 2026
A Note from Pastor Jim
To The Fort Family,
I am fired up and thrilled about this year’s 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting. The fast will run from January 4th to the 25th.
This year, I want us to look for God to show up and lead us in newness. Maybe it is for you personally - a new approach or a new level to your relationship with Him. Perhaps this new connection with Him will lead to a new commitment and love for each other as His Body - The Fort.
I am asking all of us to set aside these 21 days to seek His leading, guiding, and direction for you personally and for us together as a church.
On January 4th, you will receive a card during service. This card is a tool to help you focus your fast intentionally. The card will ask 2 questions:
What are you fasting from?
What are you fasting for?
We have prepared several resources for you in advance to help you discover the whys, whats, and hows of fasting. These resources will help answer any questions you might have concerning our 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting. We say this every year because we want you to be safe while participating in the fast: if you have any medical conditions or are taking any medications, please contact your doctor to hear what he or she recommends concerning fasting.
I ask that you try to attend all the Sunday services during the 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting. This way of connection will keep you motivated and all of us working together to hear the voice of God and HIS plan for us in 2026 and beyond.
I am praying for God to show Himself in a fresh and new way during these 21 days. I also pray that you will see His hand leading you, your family, and our church.
See you Sunday,
Pastor James Shade
